Itinerary
Get ready for an amazing day! Your adventure officially begins at 13:00 with a warm welcome from your expert guide right at your hotel.
We’ll enjoy a scenic 2-hour journey before arriving at Ventura, your home for the next part of the trip. Settle in and make yourself comfortable!
This evening is all yours! Take some time to unwind, explore your new surroundings, and get a good night’s sleep before we saddle up for a big day tomorrow.
We always aim for a seamless experience, but Mother Nature and local conditions can sometimes have other plans. We promise to keep you in the loop about any changes to our itinerary. Thanks so much for your understanding!

This morning, meet up with our friendly expert guide for a fascinating (and fun!) dive into California’s mission history — from its roots in Spain to the missions of Latin America, and finally here in California. Hear the colorful story of Father Junípero Serra, get a glimpse of daily life in the missions, and find out why many ultimately failed — and how they’re remembered today.
Our private car will whisk us from the hotel to the Santa Barbara Mission, founded in 1786 and nicknamed the “Queen of the Missions” for its stunning hilltop perch and sweeping views. You’ll have time to explore at your own pace, soaking up the peaceful courtyards and centuries-old charm.
We’ll also visit the Santa Barbara Courthouse, one of the city’s architectural crown jewels. With its Spanish-Moorish flair, sunken gardens, and 85-foot bell tower, it feels like a little slice of southern Spain right here in California. Don’t forget your camera — the panoramic views from the top are unforgettable!
For lunch, enjoy free time in downtown Santa Barbara. Whether you’re in the mood for fresh seafood, farm-to-table bites, or a sunny café, your tour leader will have plenty of tasty recommendations.

This morning, we’re off on a full-day adventure to Santa Cruz Island — the largest gem in Channel Islands National Park and a living snapshot of what Southern California looked like a century ago.
Our first stroll is a gentle, one-mile round trip to Scorpion Cave, where you’ll spot unique local plants found nowhere else on Earth. Then, for those ready for a bit more challenge, we’ll hike up to Cavern Point. The first stretch climbs about 300 feet (take your time — the views are worth it!), then levels out into jaw-dropping panoramas of the Santa Barbara Channel.
Around midday, we’ll settle into a picture-perfect picnic spot for our pre-packed lunch. Remember, the island has limited trash facilities, so we’ll take our waste back with us — a simple way to help keep this paradise pristine.
In the afternoon, we’ll keep exploring before boarding our boat back to the mainland, aiming to arrive around 5:00 PM.
Note: Departure times with Island Packers can shift with the whims of the sea and weather. If a cruise is canceled, we’ll make sure to reschedule or line up another great activity for you.

This morning, we’ll hop into our private car and head to the J. Paul Getty Museum at the Getty Center, one of the most visited art museums in the country — and for good reason! Here, world-class art meets stunning architecture, lush gardens, and jaw-dropping views of Los Angeles. Inside, you’ll find treasures by masters like Titian, Rembrandt, Manet, and Monet, while outside, the gardens and terraces offer a feast for the eyes.
You’ll have plenty of time to wander at your own pace, following whatever catches your curiosity — maybe it’s a Renaissance masterpiece, maybe it’s a sunny bench in the garden with a view.
Enjoy lunch at the Getty Center’s café or restaurant, then spend the afternoon continuing your exploration, soaking up both the art and the atmosphere, before we return to the hotel for a relaxing evening.

This morning, we’ll leave the hotel and make our way to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum. Perched high on a hill with sweeping views of the mountains, valleys, and even the sparkling Pacific, this 100-acre site is as scenic as it is fascinating. Step inside the Air Force One Pavilion and walk through the very aircraft that once served as President Reagan’s “flying White House” — it’s a rare chance to see history up close!
In the afternoon, we’ll slow the pace and enjoy a leisurely stroll through a charming, art-filled neighborhood. Pop into unique gift shops, browse local treasures, or simply relax with a coffee and a sweet treat at a cozy café — the perfect way to wrap up the day.
In the evening, we’ll return to Los Angeles, concluding this unforgettable trip.
