This program is led by a team of seasoned astrophysicists and educators, many of whom have backgrounds at NASA and decades of experience in public outreach and dark sky advocacy. Our Astronomy Docent specializes in making complex science accessible and engaging. Our sessions blend humor, history, and hands-on learning—making the stars feel closer than ever.
We’ve got you covered with stellar gear: a Celestron and Unistellar eVscope 2 telescope that auto-tracks celestial goodies, and Vortex Optics binoculars for crystal-clear views. Each guest also has a pair of Celestron Outland X Binoculars to view the sky from their pod and a handheld Celestron Astro Night Vision Flashlight to move around safely.
Everything’s desert-ready, with red-light headlamps to keep your night vision sharp and cushy mats for lounging under the cosmos.

Itinerary
Your adventure begins at 10:00 AM, when our guide picks you up from the Los Angeles Airport or your hotel. Enjoy a scenic drive through the desert landscape as we make our way to Joshua Tree National Park, famous for its surreal rock formations and vast Mojave vistas.
By 5:00 PM, arrive at the Joshua Tree Stargazing Camp for your first night beneath the stars.
You’ll learn how to navigate the night sky, observe planets, star clusters, and nebulae through high-powered telescopes, and discover the desert’s unique serenity after dark.
Our astronomy guides will present a 120-minute program that features state-of-the-art telescopes (Celestron and Unistellar eVscope) and laser pointers to help guide you through the constellations and objects of the night sky.
Afterward, relax on the ride back to your Palm Springs hotel, recharge for another day of exploration.
After breakfast, start your day with a visit to the Desert Hills Premium Outlets, just 20 minutes away. Browse over 180 designer stores—from Gucci and Prada to Nike and The North Face—and treat yourself to some unbeatable deals before heading back for the evening’s stargazing session.
By 5:00 PM, return to the Joshua Tree Stargazing Camp for your second evening of celestial discovery.
Tonight’s focus dives deeper into the cosmos with a deep-sky observation, astrophotography techniques, and a guided lesson on identifying constellations and tracing celestial motion across the sky.

Afterward, we’ll return you to your Palm Springs hotel for a peaceful night’s sleep.
Begin your morning exploring Downtown Palm Springs, a vibrant blend of mid-century modern architecture, stylish boutiques, and local art galleries. Stroll beneath the palms, enjoy a leisurely lunch, and take in the relaxed desert vibe.
After lunch, we’ll head back to Los Angeles Airport or your hotel, wrapping up your unforgettable desert stargazing adventure with memories that truly reach for the stars.
