About the tour

Understanding the culture of your target language improves your experience and facilitates the learning process, it also enables you to practice your language skills in a different environment. Cultural visits may vary depending on family location and availability. Other visits can be arranged on request.

Discover your destination’s uniqueness with an excursion to an exceptional site, visit a famous theme park, or experience a local tradition. Sessions occur with your teacher, an adult family member, or, in some cases, a professional instructor.

● ACTIVITIES
Apply what you have learnt during your lessons and practice your language skills through varied activities such as cooking, mini-golf, shopping, bowling, cinema, board games, sightseeing, etc, with your host. The nature of the activity depends on your interests and the area where the hosting family is located.

● SPORTS
Enjoy three sports sessions weekly (unless specified otherwise) and transport and equipment rental (where applicable). Sessions are usually individual but sometimes take place with a group depending on the time of year and location. They are generally held with a professional instructor but can sometimes take place with a family member.
All costs are included: the sport sessions, accompanied transport, and rental of equipment (where applicable)

● BUSINESS, PROFESSIONAL & SPECIALISED
Designed to make rapid progress in the language you are studying, and concentrating on the skills you need for your work. Improve your confidence and use of vocabulary through live practice for business meetings, negotiations, presentations, and general communication with clients. Through role playing, learn the skills and techniques for phoning, writing reports, e-mails, or letters. Improve your social skills when meeting and entertaining clients, travelling on business or attending conferences.
Purely for business or with professional vocabulary for medicine, tourism, real estate, marketing, law, human resources, media, aviation, military, engineering, banking, accountancy, computing, architecture…
● EXAM PREPARATION
Your teacher will design a course to prepare you for an exam (Cambridge EFL, TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, DELF, DELE, Baccalaureat, Abitur, Matura and other exams on request…). They will help you familiarise yourself with the test content, level, and format, work on the types of questions you may be asked, review and improve your replies, review your weaknesses, and give you past exam papers to help you practise.
This option prepares you for your exam by giving you the skills and techniques you need to pass it successfully.
● ACADEMIC PREPARATION
Our academic language option for international and EU students helps you prepare for boarding school (GCSE, A Level, IB), foundation courses or university. It enables you to develop and practise the language skills needed to communicate with teachers and students, read academic texts, write summaries, reports, essays and presentations. On request, you can also extend your vocabulary for your specialised subject (maths, science, economics, business, literature….).
● ACADEMIC HOLIDAY
You can also choose to stay with a host during your school or university holiday. This is the ideal solution when you cannot go back to your country and are looking for a warm family environment to make you feel at home during your time off. It is also an opportunity to improve your language skills while having a good time. For minors, the hosts will supervise any homework given and liaise with the school and the parents for any matters that need attending.
