About the tour
Appel Farm Arts Camp is a gender-affirming overnight summer arts camp for kids ages 8–16. We offer connection and learning through an arts-based curriculum in a safe community, personal growth, and a fun environment!
Appel Farm finds the best Counselors, Instructors, and Leadership Team members from all over the world to work at camp each summer! So many of our Camp Staff come back year after year.
Key Learning Objectives
Pick up an instrument, warm up your vocal cords, and get ready to jam!
Team-taught classes provide more 1:1 instruction opportunities
● Ensembles and instruction in Classical, Jazz, Rock, Pop and more
● Training in Composition, Conducting, Music Appreciation, History, Theory and Musicianship
● Indoor and outdoor performance spaces
● Daily Open Studio period for individual or small ensemble rehearsals
Whether your passion is vocal, classical, jazz, or rock, the Appel Farm music department has it all.
Primary classes include strings, brass, woodwinds, ensemble, rock band, vocal studios, piano, and songwriting. Our small class sizes with multiple instructors allow campers to get lots of one-on-one instruction, making classes great for beginning and advanced campers. Campers can also spend their free time jamming with other campers and staff, working on original music performances, or getting in extra rehearsal time during one of our open studio sessions. As a culmination, 4-week music campers show off their hard work at the end of the session in either the music concert or rock show on our outdoor stage.
While developing technique and musicianship are core components of classes, Appel Farm’s music program’s non-competitive approach sets it apart. We foster an atmosphere where taking creative risks is encouraged and making mistakes is part of the learning process.
